Well with the wind kicking from the north, 2 to 3 feet seas with and a lot chop, we ventured out to the CBBT Sunday Morning for some light tackle action. The water temperature was around 71 degrees and the sunrise was broken by clouds to the east.  I think the clounds helped us somewhat.

We found many chopper blues and a some dinks around the rocks and most were hitting on hardbaits and top water lures ...

This was a lot of fun and when the sun rose higher the topwater bite turned off.  We suspect that with water temperature still high that many striper are staying lower in the water column during day light hours and are not yet schooling around the bait fish. This will change was the water temp dives and fish will start instictively feeding heavier! We expect to see this happen in the weeks to come.  Overall, we feel the fishery is healthy and on track for a great season!

In closing, the light tackle and surface action is fun and we contiue to have the most success running our evening trips for Striped Bass.
