Over the last month we ran several inshore trips for folks to target Taug and Flounder around the Bay Bridge Tunnel. This proved challenging, as the wind and rain kept the water stirred up and the waves somewhat unpredictable.
We did however find a few good days to fish and shown below is one of our customers with a nice 17" Taug which was typical for the structure we targeted:

We also targeted Flounder around the 8 mile mark, but only managed 1 hook up on each trip. One was a keeper but got away at the boat and the other was not a keeper. Still, we had fun and enjoyed pulleage from sharks and a few dog fish!

These were all catch and release. The one below where caught by our guests, John and Eric Roush of visiting from Ohio.

These guys were die hard sportsman and we enjoyed the time with them, as well as the followship and the comraderie discussing our differing backgrounds and how fishing and hunting seem to weave of all together.
As far as the April Bite goes, the water temp was still a little low and the Nor' Easters didn't help either as the water clarity was not the best. Word had it that the flounder are finally starting to pickup north near Wachapreague. Perhaps the ones on the western shore were will up in the estuaries spawning.

As the weather gets warmer and the sea temp picks up in early May, things will start to pick and kick-in!
